Wayne County refuses to certify election results

Post by bmw » Tue Nov 17, 2020 7:54 pm

I find this mildly interesting:
The Wayne County Board of Canvassers deadlocked 2-2 Tuesday along party lines on whether the county's Nov. 3 election results should be certified as at least four state and federal lawsuits sought to stop the process.

The decision came after absentee ballot poll books at 70% of Detroit's 134 absentee counting boards were found to be out of balance without explanation. The mismatches varied anywhere from one to more than four votes.

" 70% of Detroit's 134 absentee counting boards were found to be out of balance without explanation. "

Oh, but there's nothing to investigate here. SMDH!

Out of balance could be by as little as 1 vote. Things being “out of balance” isn’t as big a deal as you’re making it out to be.

A couple votes here, a couple votes there... Yep, they don't make any difference.

Why were we worried about "counting every vote"??

The amount they are out of balance is said to be tiny. Biden won the state by 150,000 votes or more. Any minor imbalance would not be enough to effect the election in any meaningful way.

Imbalances aren’t uncommon anyways. They’ll audit them and figure it out and that’ll be that.

How many votes matter? We keep hearing "every vote counts", yet you keep saying it's OK if a certain percent are screwed up. I don't care about how many in the rest of the state, if each area had problems counting the vote we should be concerned that our system is not working correctly.

It's especially important when something like 19 of 19 "random" errors all seem to only fall to the benefit of just one party.

Look where it is... Detroit went for Biden 95-5... your odds of finding a screwed up Trump vote out of a few hundred thousand total votes at those percentages aren’t very good...

They will audit the vote and find why it’s out of balance. It won’t effect the outcome. That’s my point.

There simply isn’t anything here to change the outcome of any race. It’s over. Trump lost. Let’s move on. He’s 1-21 in court (and that 1 was tossed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court today)... there’s just no evidence and no there there.

It would be nice to know the total number of votes that are out of balance on the absentee logs. It may be a couple hundred votes in aggregate (no big deal and certainly no reason to grind things to a halt in a city where hundreds of thousands of votes were cast) or it could be a much larger number.

Would be nice if our incompetent news organizations could share that important piece of data. "More than four votes" could mean anything.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
