I was right about the perp being a neighborhood resident and I'm probably also right about the perp being a Trumpie.

Unfortunately, with Macomb County law enforcement being loaded with fellow Trumpies, who might not be very sympathetic to the targeted family's plight (since they had a BLM sign on their property), would not shock me if the 24 year old is offered a plea bargained light sentence.

The discharge of the firearm alone should be deserving of a minium 10 year sentence, in my opinion. The perp is mentally ill and clearly has violent tendencies.

Jury selection, if this goes to trial, worries me. Someone will probably lie their way thru the voire dire process and refuse to convict regardless of the evidence. Probably 1 in 10 whites in Macomb County hold deep seated racist views against blacks.

This kid in Warren would be lucky to get a diagnosis of mental illness rather than being killed in prison. I know of a person who started a dorm fire in a waste basket and crawled out the window circa 1971. It caused several hundred thousands worth of damage to the dorm, engulfing several rooms. This person was found to be clinically insane by a Psychologist. They concocted a defense that he had some weird religious belief system which got him sent to a home for the clinically insane. The Left Wing college town jury ate it up. They equate insanity with religion and such. He was out in two years.

This same Psychologist also crafted a defense strategy that got a well known broadcast personality acquitted on a sex charge in a high profile trial. He got the victim to indict her own behavior in an outrageous way at trial. He would probably lose his license to practice if he pulled that now.

OTOH, that equation of religion and insanity defense would probably work today in that same college town, and even more so.

Maybe they could get the aging psychologist to testify that the alleged perp was a religious nut, and change the venue to Washtenaw County.

My employer, including HR, generally treats me very well. I can work from home as much as I wish. My skill set is corporate banking, not personal or small business banking.

If anything, I am known as being outspoken within my company.
