From my perspective, cars started electric and should have stayed that way.
Sure, and the entire country (and the world) would be decades and decades behind in development. Imagine all the folks who would have died if ambulances and fire engines never made the migration to internal combustion. Probably would have been better leaving them horse-drawn!!

I also think about the cancer, and lung issues that have occurred. Remember when we used to be lead in gas for almost a century?
