Mike Shirkey wants to kill citizens

Maybe he will soon be invited to the White House to mingle.
MIchigan’s Republican-led Legislature will work with Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to continue some COVID-19 safeguards, but mask mandates and business regulations are likely on the chopping block following a state Supreme Court ruling that upended Whitmer’s emergency power, Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey said Saturday.

Shirkey and other Senate Republicans met by Zoom early Saturday as they and their legal counsel assessed the impact of the late Friday ruling that found unconstitutional a 1945 law Whitmer has used to repeatedly extend a state of emergency without legislative approval.

Shirkey told Bridge he expects a federal court could act on the decision and begin to invalidate Whitmer executive orders as soon as next week. The governor has claimed that cannot happen for at least 21 days under Supreme Court rules.

"Technically, the executive orders are still in place, [but] I don't know that anybody's going to enforce them,” Shirkey said. “If you're a gambling man, if you're talking handicapping, it's likely that most of them, if not all, will be terminated."

I would expect to see this occur across the state as a response to the Republicans trying to kill people.
Oakland County Health Officer Leigh-Ann Stafford issued an ordinance requiring county residents to wear masks or facial coverings when they leave their homes on Saturday, citing the need to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

This means that anyone not wearing a mask in public will now be guilty of a misdemeanor under the Michigan Public Health Code.

Voters, however, are encouraged, but not required, to wear a face covering while at a polling place.

The order states that Oakland County residents must use masks when:

in any indoor public space, which includes all students in grades kindergarten through twelve.
outdoors and unable to consistently maintain a distance of six feet or more from individuals who are not members of their household.
waiting for or riding on public transportation, while in a taxi or ride-sharing vehicle, school bus or hiring a private car service.
athletes are training for, practicing for, or competing in an organized sport. Athletes must wear a mask (except when swimming) or consistently maintain 6 feet of social distance (except for occasional and fleeting moments).
