Yet again, in Minnesota, we've got a cop that killed a black person for no reason.
In response, we've got black people rioting.
Dr. King is rolling in his grave.
This is not the way to do it.
I'm not holding my breath to see which side will take the high ground.
They're both rolling in the mud.

Why we can't advance as a society
Re: Why we can't advance as a society
See what's happening here?
The same divisiveness between the black people stomping police windshields and police shooting unarmed black people is on full display here. Rather than get all angry at each other, which the media wants because it makes a better story, let's actually get to the heart of the matter.

100% here.screen glare wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 1:35 amCops aren’t known for their advanced college degrees. Many are stupid. This one is a good example of the stupidity factor.
No college degree required, and it shows.
They are poorly trained overall. Rather than talking down a mentally unstable person, they shoot them. Rather than intelligently discussing a matter, they pepper-spray someone. Force is their only tool, and they wield it gleefully. They get off (likely sexually) by forcing other people to obey them. It's sick.

I agree 100%.bmw wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:18 pmFrom ABC News:
"A white former suburban Minneapolis police officer was charged Wednesday with second-degree manslaughter for killing 20-year-old Black motorist Daunte Wright in a shooting that ignited days of unrest and clashes between protesters and police."

It is "news" reporting like this that is throwing fuel on the flames of racial tensions in this country. Absent evidence of racial motivation, it is wholly irrelevant that the officer was white, that the motorist was black, or even that the officer was from the suburbs.
Oh, and for accuracy purposes, if they're going to refer to the officer as a "former" officer, then shouldn't Wright be referred to as a "former" motorist?
Also, when was the last time you heard the news use the phrase "unarmed white person"?
