For a while now, I’ve wondered why I don’t like college sports.
The incessant playing of the fight songs is gay.
Cheering for organizations that put young people in a lifetime of crippling debt is gay.
The annoying fans are gay.
Naked young people snapping towels at each other in the locker rooms is gay.
Older adults pretending to be younger, reminiscing of the days they were in college is gay.
So, by all accounts, you’d think I would like the pure homosexuality of the whole thing. But I don’t.
But I finally put my finger on it. It’s all the white fans cheering for all the white players that will never make it to the pros. That’s what I dislike the most.
