I recognize that those here on Buzzboard have a vested interest in what's on locally. Fox2 Mornings. The Nine.

But I wonder if the average viewer cares? How many turn on the TV and start getting ready for work. With the sound in the background, they're running around the house and not parked on the couch until they hear the weather jingle call them into the room. And as soon as they see the forecast and traffic --click--.

Same with The Nine. According to Nielsen, a lot of TV's are parked there. More than Today or Kelly & Whomever etc. But are housewives actually watching it? Or do they come in the room when the cooking segment is on? Or just watch it while folding? Etc.

I'm sure there's no way to prove it. But I'm thinking as far as people actually watching, more folks are watching Ripka and Hall than The Nine. Regardless of what the ratings say.

Think about it. None of you want to actually sit and watch it. Do you think the average viewer does. For most, Fox2 is background noise until Sheppard gets off at 2.

You're right. I believe it's because they're doing the weather every 10 to 15 minutes right up to one o'clock. People do have their TV on 2. But how many are sitting and watching the whole time? Or just popping in the room when they hear the weather jingle or the cooking segment jingle, etc. You get the idea. Whatever interest them.

Like I said, if there was some way to measure how many viewers are actually parked on the couch, I got a feeling 4 and 7 would win after 7am. Which is why I wonder how many viewers are repulsed (your word) by something they're not watching. Are the Weather Boy Antics something many people are even paying attention to?
