Heard part of the repeat today, around the time of the mystery song.

I'm guessing Friday is your most listened to show, holding on to much of the Elvis of Sports Talk's audience. Speaking of which, you should get in contact with Mr. Positive and give him a weekly 3-5 minute segment. Let him roll in the way only he can.

You've been telling Florida Man stories.

You should ask Ron Cameron if he has any. He spent time there in the 1990s, including the ownership of a radio station (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Camer ... Management).

Also, in this tape of a 1997 show (2/18/97), Ron makes some interesting comments about Florida residents at about the five minute mark (https://www.detroitmoviepalaces.com/ima ... 8Part1.mp3).
We actually did ask him once, and he had no idea what the heck we were even talking about.
It would be cool if you could interview Ron about the Wikipedia page (which the Buzzboard created). Lots of interesting things there. Maybe some day when his second hour is open line, and you could come in early.

A reminder that we are BACK to our regularly scheduled nonsense, the hiatus has ended!

I'm pretty sure Ron was also involved in the now deleted WFVR Valdosta, GA. It had a CP to move to Wellborn, FL near the I-75/I-10 interchange, as "Florida Visitors Radio"

Thanks for the tip. I found some stuff on the Internet about a Ron Cameron buying WFVR in 2000 and selling it in 2002. That was when Ron was doing a lot of wheeling and dealing, so it make sense. I'll dig some more.

With the passing of Ron Cameron, I think a short tribute would be a nice gesture. Stories of your encounters, etc.

A request for Friday's show: Could you and your cohorts play "We Are The Champions" by Queen in tribute to Ron Cameron? This was his theme song on WDTK.

You're absolutely right, we're saddened by the loss of our hero. The least we can do is make sure he is given the proper respect and fanfare.

If you are taking some musical tribute requests, how about "My Way" by Frank Sinatra. Totally fitting for Ron.
What time do you come on today?

Here's a couple of songs that Ron often referenced:

Kookie, Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kookie,_K ... Your_Comb))

It was a couple months ago. If I had to give a guess on a month, I would say no older than November of 2023
