Might Kevin Adell use some of his $75 million to buy an FM? Or is EMF eyeing a second FM signal for Detroit?

Might Audacy use some $$$ from its recent sales in Buffalo and Memphis to add 93.1, and in the process, eliminate a competitor to WYCD while adding an FM signal for WWJ?

If it's true a multi-market deal is a foot with a national Christian broadcaster, might serial underachiever WTNR in Grand Rapids also be involved? How about WQQO in Toledo?

Nope. Radioinsight reports that the rumor is that 93.1 will be going to a Christian broadcaster, so maybe EMF or VCY.

That said, how long before Cumulus sells WDVD? I would not be surprised if Audacy makes a play at 96.3, either as a sale or part of a swap (maybe WDVD for what remains of Audacy Buffalo AND Memphis?).

WDVD would be a good fit for either Beasley or Audacy, but yeah, some horse trading would be required in all likelihood.

I think anyone at Cumulus Detroit has a valid reason to be concerned, at this point.

Cumulus did sell 103.3 in DFW to VCY not that long ago, so it's certainly possible they are the suitor. If so, that would be an absolute shame. Their programming is of extremely niche appeal.

Of course, one of the Catholic broadcasters could be looking to upgrade, too. I suspect they aren't as well funded, though.

I wouldn't rule out Salem, either. They spent some money on acquisitions in the Miami market in late 2022 (and likely overpaid).

If Adell buys an FM, look for yet another Urban format or religious. I don’t see a simulcast of WFDF.

92.1 in the Houston area just sold for $7.5 million, but I think Urban One was looking to dump the station quickly. That station is a rim shooter albeit a pretty good one. Probably has more folks inside its 70 dBu than WDRQ.

I suspect 93.1 would fetch about $10 million on a fair market basis. 105.9 and 102.7 were sold not long ago, but I believe those purchase agreements were entered pre-pandemic.

Family Life Radio!!! Now we know why they divested the string of crappy translator signals late last year (that deal closed in February of this year as I recall). This deal was obviously in the works for a while.
