Now this is a job I could do. Six figures a year.

"What are the roads looking like out there?"

"Construction. Back ups. Closures. Back to you"
You could just record one hit a week on Sunday nights and leave it at that.
This goes along perfectly with my idea to voice track Pistons games. Just record my voice saying other team names and numbers, put it in Pro Tools, and let it roll.

"Pistons...62

Bucks...113. More. After. This."
I love it… you can be poolside instead…

They make six figures??? I thought about the anchors crossed that threshold! Do reporters too? If so, I'm been MUCH too lenient on expectations!

They better not make more than me. On pace for about 90K… actually if someone on TV is making less than a bus driver in a large market that’s quite sad…

Yes they make six figures!

Here are the salary ranges for Detroit TV people.

General Assignment Reporters: 85K-100K to start. those who have been at the station a few years or started a few years ago before salary drops, are well above 100.

Weekend Anchors: 115K and up.

Weekday Morning/secondary evening/traffic/secondary weather etc: $125K-175K to start.

Main anchor (newbies): $200K-400K.

I dont know how true it is but I thought I heard somewhere that many local reporters are actually freelance.

REALLY?? I've been giving many the 'benefit of the doubt' when I see/hear stupid stuff on TV because I thought many were paid just above intern level.

This is so inaccurate it’s laughable.

Each station is different and the pay is significantly lower than what you believe it is. No one makes over 6 figures to start in this market. Traffic reporters make 70k TOPS. Don’t be ridiculous. You’re just making shit up.

Actually, it is accurate.

And these numbers are from what was being offered within the last three years.

This is a Top 15 market. 7 starts GA’s at 85. 4 starts GA reporters at 90-100. Thats down due to the pandemic/economy. Again.. thats to start, for someone from a medium market. Someone who has been here 5 years is well over 100.

This is patently false. Detroit is one of the lowest paying markets in the country.

Starting reporters at 7 are the lowest paid
Staring reporters at fox 2 are the highest. At 80k to start. They’re a union shop and that pays more.

Traffic reporters don’t make even close to that. Not sure what bull shit lie you’re being told, but you’re seriously misinformed.

Just stop.
