Nielsen Ratings for February
The February Nielsen ratings have come out on line for the major markets including Detroit. WCSX is number one with
a 7.4% share. WCSX went slightly up while its classic rock competition WLLZ remained with a 3.8% share. WCSX deserves to
be number one for sure and I still say Beasley is the only radio company in Detroit that understands the rock audience of
the Detroit area when you consider that their active rock station WRIF is number 5 overall with a 5.8% share on top of the
classic rock station WCSX having a 7.4% share.
The I-Heart people had WKQI number two with Top 40/CHR. WNIC number three with A/C, and WMXD with WMXD in
at number six with its UAC format. Audacy had its share of stations in the top ten including sports station "The Ticket"
number four, WOMC the classic hits station an number seven, modern country hits WYCD number eight. and all news
WWJ number nine. Meanwhile Cumulus of Detroit had no top ten stations and their most impressive station was the
hot A/C station WDVD coming in number 12. Between doing best with a number 12 station and considering how under
Cumulus once popular stations WDRQ and WJR have declined, I wonder how long they'll stay in the Detroit market and
if they have any interest in flipping any of their stations before giving up on Detroit.

No one listens to WJR except grumpy old white boomers. WDRQ, now that one seems ripe for a flip, hmm? maybe a return to Variety hits or a gold based country format. WLLZ is holding its own, not bad really. Same old story with Alt 98.7

As per tradition with all threads like this:
Fuck you WLLZ and every decision maker there.

Re: Nielsen Ratings for February
Does WLLZ typically play Men at Work? Hearing Down Under. Hmmm…maybe I should have started a new thread

If u heard Men at Work.....maybe iheart is adjusting the playlist by listening to old airchecks from 98.7 on youtube lol.
More CSX type stuff is garnering the solid 3.8, anyone think maybe they should position themselves between CSX and OMC ????

Re: Nielsen Ratings for February
There's not enough daylight between WOMC and WCSX, in my opinion.
Musically, WLLZ is positioned right where it should be.
The station that needs to be altered is Alt 98.7. They should expand the library and devote more music slots to material from the 90s and early 00s.

106.7 Detroit's Wheels " We play anything we feel like" would love a return to The D 2.0. If they played Men At Work maybe there testing the waters to evolve into that. Likely not but would be nice.
Re: Nielsen Ratings for February
I would welcome that! Loved The D 2.0!!! Wheels 106.7 "We Play Anything"
Re: Nielsen Ratings for February
Since WXYT-FM has a 6.3 rating and a 1.3 rating for their streaming, should they be considered to have a 7.6,making them #1? If not, why not? I am not in the business, so can those who are please enlighten me.

Re: Nielsen Ratings for February
I would be remiss if I did not mention mornings are going to be a major weak spot for WLLZ if they don't find a suitable replacement for Josh Innes.
He far and away was the most talented personality to host mornings on either classic rock iteration of 106.7 (dating back to The Drive - remember that shit wagon of a radio station?).
Tim Battle is boring as hell.
Innes left iFart to accept afternoon drive at KSHE in St. Louis.
