Who the heck is going to listen to ultra-boring Michigan Panthers football on the radio?

What's next - junior A hockey broadcasts and G-League basketball broadcasts?

...and Chris Renwick is the play-by-play announcer? Ugh!

Chris Renwick is a decent interviewer, and can run circles around Guy Gordon, who's a laughingstock. Chris and Jason Carr did a decent job filling in for Guy a few weeks back. While Chris may not have the best radio voice, he still sounds better than Kevin Dietz, and seems to be more thoughtful and intelligent with guests and callers.

As for the Panthers, I am sure dozens will be listening. Probably a pay to play, like most of the junk programming on WJR.

MW, yes, believe it or not, WJR was indeed running high school sports on Friday nights during the fall and winter. As president Dementia Joe would say, "Not a joke" :lol

The high school contests probably draw a larger audience than what the Panthers will draw.

When I saw this topic's title, I thought you were going to mention something about their advertisers. I feel like every commercial I hear on WJR is a scam or a fancy pet rock. MyComputerCareer.com, bible health insurance, the alternative health infomercial show from the lady with the scottish accent, mycleanpc.com, My Patriot Supply for the impending apocalypse, time share exit teams, books just off the top of my head. They all seem like ads that if they were in email form, they'd go straight to my spam folder.

It has to be brokered. Who in their right mind would pay or even barter for these games? I have to give the USFL credit for ponying up the cash for WJR instead of 1270 or one of the obscure AMs.

I do hope the league succeeds. I've always been a supporter of minor league sports, if done right.

WSPD plays those ads all the time. WJR and WSPD seem to have the same types of advertisers.

Those advertisers recognize an audience that is easily hoodwinked

What’s been going on with their signal? HD has been offline or “buzzing” at times. I turned on Paul W the other day and they said their computers were “locked”.

Are you referring to 96.3 HD2?

WJR 760 hasn't broadcast in IBOC digital in at least a decade's time.

Based on the support here, it sounds like we really need to protect AM from being removed from car audio systems.... 🙄
