CIDR....hilarious

Post by syntheticexctasy » Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:38 am

Virgin radio has been running terrible audio for almost two weeks now, and no one here has noticed LOL (or at least posted about it). Goes to show what their listenership looks like. I miss the river.

93.9's audio sounds much improved right now versus last weekend. Whatever failed in the rack has clearly been fixed. Outstanding bass response, but highs sound distorted. The levels are crunk a bit too high.

I did hear the really crappy audio last weekend. Sounded like an unprocessed .mp3 file.

yeah what I was talking about was mainly the overdriven audio. I talked to someone at the station yesterday, the claim is that an engineer is waiting on a piece of equipment to arrive.

The audio sounds a bit louder and even more distorted today than yesterday. A very uncomfortable listening experience. I prefer the telephone quality audio of a week ago

The general mentality of radio these days is "set it and forget it" -- unlike the days of yore, there are no engineers monitoring their stations around the clock.

Audio on 93.9 continues to sound like absolute trash. Excessively loud and heavily distorted. No one in the building knows how to push buttons or turn dials to fix that?

To add insult to injury, 88.7's audio this morning - after sounding very good these past couple months - sounds too quiet.

Are the clowns on Ouelette Ave. ever gonna fix 93.9's horrendously distorted audio?

I would like to see what would happen to those four Windsor radio stations if any other company besides Bell owned them.

it did seem to get better for a bit, but now is 2x worse than it was to begin with. Seems like simply turning down the level going into the exciter would fix it temporarily? guess that's why i'm not an engineer :)

Sister station 88.7's audio levels have been super low all day today. That operation is a complete cluster----.
