OTA channel 2 channels listed under 7

Post by BillT » Sat Oct 22, 2022 9:07 am

Lately all my channel 2 substations have moved out of order to channel 7. This happens occasionally, even though I rescinded. Anyone know why this happens?

I noticed this last night too. Seemed to be fixed by this morning. I had two 7.2's two 7.3s, 7.4's and a 7.5 and 7.6 (Fox Weather).

I noticed last night 2.2-2.6 were completely out on my tv in the bedroom, leaving only 2.1 available. This morning channels 2.1-2.6 were “forgotten” on the tv in the basement; I thought someone rescanned that tv before I used it, so i was channel surfing up, and the tv found the missing channels above channel 7.1. The tv then reassigned them back in place.

Cool story, I know.

WJBK digital channel is 7. When I manually rescan my channels I have to use the digital channel and not the virtual display (2)

I think you meant to say "WJBK digital channels are broadcast on RF channel 7". There must have been something messed up in the PSIP tables and the receivers defaulted to the RF channel.

No I meant what I meant. Its marketed as digital and not RF.

That makes no sense. Probably why I didn't understand it.

NTSC RF 7, (175MHz) is where CH 2 broadcasts, and PSIP redirects. Toledo had a mess when CH48 was assigned CH36 in the repack, and TVs would scan and show two 36's one virtual, one RF, it was a mess, still is.
