Audacy really should've keep 98.7 as The Breeze. What a shame this station is today. Detroit radio is truly boring.

I kind of have to disagree, after Covid hit ratings and ad revenue dropped quite a bit. With 89x going country, the move made sense.

The Breeze earned a 4.3 share in its final Nielsen Audio survey. During the early part of COVID, its share briefly sunk into the low/mid 2's.
I completely agree the station shouldn't have been blown up.

The best that Alt 98.7 will ever do is a 2.5, Alternative in Detroit has always been a weak format.

I didn’t know they were playing Cheryl Crowe. Seems like they were mainly geared to females though. They weren’t really very good at advertising themselves. That’s what cost them I think.
