Damn! ALT up to a 2.4! If they just cleaned up that music log, did a crw promotions, got a couple local jocks and dumped Lazblow, I would be willing to bet they could easily crack a 3 share. Easy. I would put next month's salary on it.

Every time I tune by WOMC I hear Tears For Fears. I just don't get it.

Fuck me.
The WLLZ strategy of basically becoming a WCSX twin is working. Fuck them and fuck every one of the decision makers there.
Thanks for making Detroit radio worse.

That shouldn't surprise you. 93.1 Doug FM earned good numbers, too, when it had plenty of artist overlap with 94.7 years ago.

I suppose. I basically skip right over them now 9 out of 10 times though while flipping through my presets. Are they still claiming to be "The New Generation of Classic Rock" or whatever they started with?

I remember Doug FM being mostly goofy ass 80s songs like Once in a Lifetime by the Talking Heads or Mickey by Toni Basil, and Rock Me Amadeus.

And I loved every second of it. Idk why people on this board complain about it.

I would take that over the one millionth spin of "Hotel California" any day of the week.

Doug was heavily 80s pop with some rock mixed in. Once in a while they would put on a 90s song, even early 2000.

They played a lot of Smash Mouth.

What I liked the most was that they picked the most ridiculous song from every artist they played.
Like Mr. Roboto, instead of something boring and "normal" like Come Sail Away.
Or Stand by REM instead of Losing My Religion.

I just went on the site on the way back machine and looked at the recently played on a random day in 2006.

Jimmy Buffet - Cheeseburger in Paradise
KC and the sunshine band - I'm Your Boogieman
Village People - Macho Man

That was the first place I heard "Words" by Missing Persons. I actually didn't mind Doug. It was cool going outside of the only 50 songs ever recorded and released in music history.

Dude, I just looked it up and wow, I always remembered that "do you hear me" and could never figure out what it was from or why it's in my head.
I'm sure I heard it on Doug.

The often criticized Steve Kosbau was the one responsible for the interesting tunes on the original version of Doug FM. There was no magic formula or deep research to any of it.

The songs seemed pretty ordinary and boring to me the vast majority of the time, but it worked.

Does the estate of Tom Petty program WLLZ?

I may be missing something very simplistic, but what is the big appeal at WOMC music wise
