Did anyone catch what Audacy did today?
At 6pm, all Audacy stations on FM had a two hour program dedicated to mental health. That's cool in and of itself. Kinda ballsy to do it on all of your FM properties, at 6pm no less.
But if you really wanna help, start by getting that trash off 98.7. And this programming was the most interesting thing I've heard on 99.5 in ages.
Was definitely bummed about 97.1, though.
I'm surprised no one mentioned it!

I heard snippets while driving around. The intent was certainly good, but I'm sorry. The panelists were uber boring. I don't know how in on earth anyone could withstand listening to the entire program.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

Thanks. I was listening to WOMC and wondering if they changed to talk radio.

That's where I first heard it. I was flipping around at the TOH and heard joiner music then the talking. Eventually they all had it on. Like MW said, heart was in the right place, but it missed the mark.Mike Oxlong wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 7:32 amThanks. I was listening to WOMC and wondering if they changed to talk radio.
How much you wanna bet the numbers are still the same next month?

I listened on 950 briefly when heading to the farmers’ market. It’s excellent. Definitely couldn’t do 2 hours of it though.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

More drivel for the online public file, to brag about at renewal time.

I agree with both Flagg and MCRF. Seems like lip service, but at the same time, I think it's a good thing to do.

I disagree with Flagg. I think there was good intent behind it. Did it need to be on all 6, 7 of their stations at once? No.
If it was just more public affairs programming to brag about, they would have buried it at 4am Sunday morning. It is a ballsy move to preempt normal programming at 6pm during the week.
Was kind of hoping there WAS a format flip imminent, though. Oh well.

I remember them doing this on all of their stations a year or two ago, but they ran it at 6am on a Sunday.
Let’s be honest. This was probably more entertaining than whatever Lazlo was droning on about.

That's not even a question. Dead air is more entertaining than Laz-Low Ratings.Chrocket87 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:53 pmI remember them doing this on all of their stations a year or two ago, but they ran it at 6am on a Sunday.

Mega: I should’ve rephrased what I said earlier. It seemed like lip service to me, but then again I haven’t actually listened to it. If it’s actually a forum for letting people talk about it without being judged, good. I also hope there’s some sort of charitable aspect as well. I’d love to know if Audacy has donated any funds to mental health related charities/causes.
