New ABC logo (well, sorta)

The ABC logo was introduced 11 days ago. My question is, Will WXYZ use the new ABC logo? Since ABC is pushing for the affiliates to use its new logo with the station logo, I say yes. Personally, I say leave it like it is now, as in the station continuing to use the old ABC logo. I see no real difference between the new and the old.

Apparently, WXYZ is going to use the new ABC logo, but it’s not going to be as recognizable, as it’s going to be a ghost version. It’s supposed to be used in the fall.

Is WXYZ renovating its news set?

Over the past two to three weeks, I've noticed only a small portion of its set (i.e. the area directly in front of the video wall) is being utilized.

If yes - hopefully the next one is a little brighter and less dreary looking.

CircleWXYZ, I'm just curious and I apologize in advance if this question seems nosy. Do You have a background in graphics arts or do you have a keen interest in TV Station logos? I guess I would fall in the later category, especially logos made before 1980, (logos of today are boring.)

Not a background as a major, but I’ve been fascinated with images. I think changing the ABC logo was very unnecessary, because it’s timeless. I understand why they did it but I just don’t agree with it.

As long as they stick with the “ 7 ABC” image and don’t go to an “ABC 7” image (network logo to the left of the station logo) incorporating the new logo should be flawless.

Talking about this new ABC logo! According to some on tv news talk (https://forums.tvnewstalk.net/topic/183 ... /#comments), some ABC owned stations and affiliates are pushing back on this. I think it’s possible they will either slowly integrate the new logo or just delay it all together. WXYZ Will apparently use it at some point (I believe in the next couple weeks) but they might roll it out slowly. Remember, Scripps just introduced a new graphics package just last year.

They are. They’ve used that same set since 2011. It’s due for a change!!

They are going to introduce the new look on the newscasts I heard in the next couple weeks. They might get a new opening as well.
