So, what do you think of "THE BET 1270" ? one of 7 Audacy owned sports stations they flipped to it's Sports Betting “BetQL Network"

This kind of thing was inevitable once sports betting was legalized in the state. Just another nail in what will eventually be the downfall of professional sports in this country, IMO.

My personal opinion aside, I can't imagine people who bet on sports tuning into AM radio for information on who to bet on. With the trove of information available on the internet, who is going to tune into some no-name radio personality?

I do like the CBS Sports Radio shows. Glad I can still listen to them on Sirius.

I could see it. I-heart has The Gambler, which is heard on 1230 WCWA in Toledo. Not a big sports guy so it really doesn't interest me but yeah... I see it as sort of putting a ribbon on a turd.

I very much doubt Audacity - oops, I mean Audacy - cares whether it gets any listeners. It exists for the same reason CBS Sports Radio existed - so the brand could have clearance in Detroit. It will last until Audacy comes up with its next bright idea to push.
In the meantime, 1050 WTKA exists for anyone who really misses the Large One that much. Or maybe he'll end up on 1090 WCAR.

The Large One was supposedly buying the time on 1270. It's hard for me to imagine David Field and friends would want to lose that revenue. I can only imagine the gigantic electric bill for 1270.

When Chuck Fritz owned the station, it was a contender. Now, it's pure uniblab, with no discernible audience.
