WMYD will switchover to ATSC 3.0 today at 10AM EST, 12/07.

Ok. I don’t know much of these things, however, I do have an ATSC 3.0 tuner on my Sony X900H. In looking at the signal diagnostic affer a rescan on Dec. 7th, it shows this:

20.1 - Physical Channel 25 - Modulation 8VSB - 539.994 MHz
20.2 - Physical Channel 32 - Modulation 8VSB - 580.993 MHz
20.3 - Physical Channel 7 - Modulation 8VSB - 176.998 MHz

Am I getting the re-mapped 1.0, the new 3.0, or a mix of both?

You are getting the ATSC 1.0 signals of WMYD.

You aren’t missing much from what rabbitears.info is reporting of WMYD’s ATSC 3.0 broadcasts. Five main channel feeds, three of which are 720p and two 1080p.

You may want to ask Sony support.

Sony pushed an update to enable the 3.0 tuner, however, I had to switch the region of my TV to USA (from Canada) to get the 3.0 duplicates to appear in a re-scan.

All seems to be working ok.

2.1, 4.1, 7.1, 20.1, 62.1 are showing as 1080i

I’m not sure what’s going on with 20.99?

The wait for some NextGen programming has begun. I’m sure it’ll be a while before anything gets pushed out in 4K HLG.

Nice to know the sony X900H has the built in 3.0 tuner.....here in Canada retails a bit over a thousand before tax.

My new TV is a Sony XR50X90J and it says NextGen TV on the box it came in. Do I still have to set it to USA to watch the Detroit 3.0 channels?

Turns out the answer is yes. I figured out how to do it after that post. You are getting 1080p which better than 1080i, but is not equal to true 4K video. Finding 4K through the apps is not difficult to do, however.

They are carrying five channels over one 6 MHz wide physical channel. They include the big Four commerical networks, and TV 20 (WMYD) which is now independent.
