I remember when everyone I knew drank only tap water.

I remember when dog food wasn’t a big decision.

I remember slamming the tether ball during recess at school.

I remember hearing my parents argue after I went to bed and worrying they might get a divorce.

I remember where I was when I learned JFK and John Lennon had been shot.

I remember I could go everywhere without my phone and not expect to see it until I got home.

I remember feeling like I was watching a movie when 9/11 happened. Then realizing I too was IN that movie.

And I remember when the American flag represented all of us - not just Trump and his cult.
