Since I still have reception issues with CW, ABC, and WHNE, this might be a better option then messing with my set up,

I just installed it. It’s free but you have a nagging donation screen that asks for $5 a month. It works great

I have noticed on this Locast app on all the Channel 2’s and the Channel 3’s a good amount of screen freezes. Anyone else noticed this today?

Well good, now WHNE can be seen easily by all of the metro area, and now Sanilac County can get free local TV too, because they're too far from the towers to get them OTA.

WHNE made a post on their facebook about this, and they're pretty excited. As am I, since my VHF antenna setup has been pretty failure prone lately.

I wonder where Locast's antenna is set up.

Sounds like the rebirth of Aereo.

Will it meet the same fate?

If one pays the $5 monthly donation, do the annoyingly persistent "please donate" ads disappear?

PQ is decent but the colors aren't as vibrant as true over the air reception or cable reception. There is also no ability to adjust size aspect ratio, as far as I can tell.

Maybe?

Instead of technical nuance to get around copyright law, Locast uses an exception granted in copyright law. That does not mean that they won't be sued until they are out of money, but I think they stand a better chance that Aereo.

Retransmission consent needs rework anyway. I should not be forced to have local channels bundled into pay TV packages when the local stations spend enormous amounts of money to throw that content into the air for free. If they want to be paid by the viewer, give up the spectrum.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!

Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

It appears that Locast has suspended operations entirely.
