I agree. I don't see both the News and Free Press surviving much longer. They should just merge operations and operate as 1 website.

The desktop versions of their respective web sites look like crap. The headline font is too small, and there is too much unused space.

There is a simple method to get around the paywall on the Free Press and Detroit News websites. (I'm sure it work works on other sites with paywalls as well)

Copy the link of the article you wish to see and paste it into the URL bar of your browser. Then to the front of the link, add this address:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:

Ultimately, the full address in the URL bar would look like:

I'm inching closer and closer to getting an online subscription to one of the papers. Can't read as many sports stories as I'd like. Anyone else heading in this direction?
