Trying to talk past the fact he had a gun and noting with great anchor concern that protests are calling for Craig's firing because of the terrible rash of police shootings.

I am sure she will do it again, they repeat all morning

Are protests calling for Craig’s firing?

Way back when...News used to be 1/2 hr of Local and 1/2 hr National. That's it! Just enough time to provide enough of what was needed to know. Today, it's 24hrs. and there can't possibly be that amount of vetted news to relay. As a result, opinion and editorializing took over with lies and misguided emotion. I could easily deal with 1 hr of news. It's the 23 hrs of BS that comes with it that I cannot deal with.
Shameful really. Broadcast journalism used to be a much more honest profession.

I looked at freep and det news and neither of them said people wanted Craig out. Before I turned away she said there was a press conference this afternoon that wants him fired, so....

I hate to break this to you, but the opinion and editorializing was always there. They just lied about their bias back then. Walter Cronkite, “the most trusted man in America”, was a partisan democrat who was personal chums with democrat politicians. Dan Rather is currently a disgraced, unemployed left-wing hack, but at one time he was supposedly “America’s news man”.

I hate to break this to you, but you might want to check out an old Dick Cavett interview with Cronkite before his retirement. You might learn a few things about his political leanings.

Bill Bonds used to editorialize right in the copy of stories... it also sounded a hell of a lot better...

The Detroit News did a long piece. It is the small hate whitey group talking a lot of crazy and dancing around the fact they lie after every encounter. Unsaid was that it is the same small group 7 was pushing during the early protests that turned into mini riots.

The News did point out the real civil rights groups want nothing to do with this group

Now the shit for brains protesters want the chief to resign, like that’s going to happen. Time for the protesters to find a job and get their asses off unemployment. The government should stop paying these assholes.

I hear there's a position open for Assistant News Director at WXYZ. Maybe someone here can take on that role as a public service and see if they can start righting the ship?

I’d bring back the pre-Tim Dye hard news style and write copy the old way. Might improve the ratings.

WXYZ just hasn’t been the same in the past few years. When they started letting good people go about 10 years ago, the station just went downhill. Ch 7 needs new leadership, starting with its owner. Scripps has slowly ruined this station. Wouldn’t mind ABC taking back ownership and fixing this train wreck.
