President Schlissel just might’ve caused an uproar

Not only is this dude appeasing the ultra liberal faction at the University of Michigan with his comments of potentially no football, I think he’s echoing the true sentiments of Governor Whitmer, when it comes to college athletes in the state of Michigan.

I feel these people are obviously on a power trip. This is way out of hand. We need sports, even if it’s in a limited capacity. I’m all for keeping everyone alive and healthy. But to totally take away our enjoyment is a bit too much. Just my opinion, that’s all.

It’s not the pros after all... if nobody is on campus then why should the athletes come back just to play football? Realistically the football program started as a club and not a massive money machine anyways...

Are you fucking serious? The football program generates 99.9% of revenue at the university. Not to mention 92% of the endowment comes from alumni supporters of Michigan Football. In fact, contributions made to the endowment from football actually FUND other sports programs.. INCLUDING basketball and gymnastics. DUH!!

He’d be a fucking moron to not allow the team to play. But, again, FACTS and ACTUAL data don’t matter to these elitist idiots.

Only in the last few decades has it really become a money machine. It started as a club activity. Then it became a sport but as a source of pride not H*** company endorsements and $80 tickets. That’s relatively new.

The NCAA would have to be fucking morons TO let the teams play.

I'd say there's a 90 percent chance the season gets canceled nationwide.

The endowment has a massive fund balance. Cancellation of one year's worth of football will barely be a blip on the radar.

The reason is obvious. No young girls for the football team to prey on. No young boys for the coaches to prey on.

Normally I view your posts with amused interest. Once in a while, I think you make a valid point.

This post however crossed the line. You just jumped the shark.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

These cancellations have been happening worldwide. I just heard about a Notre Dame football game in September in Dublin, Ireland being cancelled.

The abuse in one form or another goes on worldwide also. Not just UM or MSU. Not just football. Most of it is arguably consensual, being of age and such. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. You have to have your head in the sand to ignore it. Some go to expensive gambling casinos, where some aging rich men pay upwards of $20,000 for a high class "call girl". Or "call boys" in Southeast Asia. But college sports has been notorious for these kinds of shenanigans. It's just hidden from public view. Once in a while, an "Epstein Island" is exposed, and then covered up. All I know is what I read. Never been there.

Ok and your point is? Nobody is cancelling based on a lack of rape victims for Christ sake...

You are the guy with fact problems
UM School of Medicine dwarfs the Athletic Department in terms of both gross revenues and surplus......surplus is something the Athletic Department never really has. The athletic department pulled in about 198 million dollars last year and spent it all within the department. The university medical schools gross just under 5 billion a year and usually shows a surplus but that stays in house within the medicine school.
The athletic department is self sustaining with football the biggest source but it donates nothing to the school at large. Most of the endowments come from the school of medicine and the school of business.

Too much money to be made. Football will happen. Maybe not exactly as it was but there will be games.

So you're saying there's a chance of no Harbum "sleepovers," no daily Harbum diarrhea of the mouth on news broadcasts, and no Harbum excuses for yet another loss to that team from south of here? I'll take it.

Cancelling sports or anything else over a strain of flu that kills generally people over the age of 70 and gives you a 99% chance of recovering if you even do get it is ridiculous.
When did people turn into such pussies?

Well.. it isn’t the flu for starters. Secondly while your odds may be low quite a few people are going by the assumption “if anyone Is going to get this thing and die it’d be my luck”...

Third it isn’t the deaths... it’s the inundation of hospitals that would be the concern... packing 105,000 people into a stadium is the recipe for a massive outbreak on a scale you couldn’t get with the flu which is far less contagious and deadly.

Would you rather go back to a supposedly simpler time where we didn’t have the knowledge we do now and just let things go as is... say 1850?
