Confusing "live" location
Confusing "live" location
I was looking for the "And then there's this" thread but couldn't find it. Apparently you can't search for any of those terms because they are common words. I would have just posted this in that thread.
Oh well.
Today on 7 there was a LIVE report by Jen Shanz about the Oakland Sheriff deputy charged with a shooting in Pontiac (shot the pregnant passenger of a car a while ago). In her LIVE report, Jen was standing in a spot where the I-94 bridge crosses Telegraph in Wayne County.
WHY?

Re: Confusing "live" location
Either it’s closer and spends less gas to get to a random spot at the opposite end of M-39.. or she’s turning another story down that way and stopped to do a live hit first on the way.km1125 wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 11:14 amI was looking for the "And then there's this" thread but couldn't find it. Frequently 7 goes to the Meijer in Southfield to find out what shoppers think about x... they don’t go far from the station if they don’t have to and I think there is some bean counter explanation why...

A drunk creamed a broken down car's driver on 94 in Taylor in the early morning, she must have been there earlier to cover the freeway closing in the early morning hours

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

I sure can!
I took a slide from a camera pointed at the ground with my left foot in Kentucky and my right foot in Virginia.

Web connected drone with loudspeaker... you can shout your message from above the rooftops...
Re: Confusing "live" location
I guess the problem I'm having with it is why was it important to let folks know she is reporting LIVE from that location? If she was actually at a location relevant to the story, then it makes sense. I could understand her reporting from whatever location she is at, even if that was the studio.

Just standard procedure these days... just like the little ABC logo they added to the circle 7 40 or more years after the logo debuted.km1125 wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 8:40 amI guess the problem I'm having with it is why was it important to let folks know she is reporting LIVE from that location?
