53 at metro and 54 at Ann Arbor... that’s a margin for error thing and I’m not sure your criticism is fair... they are off by 70 miles or so on where the front lands and there is always a margin for error on that. NWS predicts the front will go through apparently.. they say high of 71 at Metro.

The promise of 70s all week next week also appears to be falling by the wayside. Sunday features another warm front or stationary front close to the state line. Monday looks to be gloomy and 60-ish. Tuesday will probably be 65-ish (not bad, but not low or mid 70s like the dummies were forecasting last night).

Up to 58 at Metro. I can see it getting to almost 69 by the end of the night before falling back especially with a decent dry slot.

How can you attack anybody for a forecast for next week? They are all adjusting down... NWS has for 2 days now... you can’t possibly think that’s really a fair thing to do...

I think the NWS, Accuweather and TWC have done a better job of adjusting the extended downward than the dummies on local TV.

I think days in the 60s will outnumber days in the 70s over the next week.

Lyin' Ben and Firecracker Dave know their extended forecasts from yesterday were garbage. Instead of applying a major adjustment to next week all at once, they'll phase in the temperature adjustments over the next couple days, hoping viewers forget how bad their original predictions were!

61 as of 7pm... I don’t much pay attention to the forecast till about 3 days out... Jerry Hodak kept the 5 day for a long time for this reason I’ve heard. He mightily resisted 7 doing a 7 day forecast for a while.

60s? More like 50s Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with Monday maybe struggling to even get out of the 40s. That is, if you believe the GFS temperature forecasts. Every update they keep getting colder and colder and colder.

For the heart of Metro Detroit, I think 50s on Monday are very possible. I think Sunday will be near 60 (milder toward the state line) and Tuesday will be 60 to low 60's (milder than that toward Lansing).

74 today? Unlikely with several hours of clouds and intermittent rain into early afternoon. If we get enough dry hours, could happen. 70 seems like a safer bet.

GFS apparently is in bad need of upgrades and investments, the European model is more reliable so I’ve read. This article about efforts to improve it is worth a read:
