Re: Just remember...
The weather idiots on TV predicted daytime highs of 67 to 70 for today.
Not...gonna...happen. Surface front will get hung up along or just south of the state line.
It's in the low 50s in my locale; the temp hasn't budged in 3 or 4 hours.

53 at metro and 54 at Ann Arbor... that’s a margin for error thing and I’m not sure your criticism is fair... they are off by 70 miles or so on where the front lands and there is always a margin for error on that. NWS predicts the front will go through apparently.. they say high of 71 at Metro.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 2:07 pmThe weather idiots on TV predicted daytime highs of 67 to 70 for today.

Re: Just remember...
Weak steering winds and very cold lakes are responsible. Happens all the time when we have a resident cold air mass in place in spring. They deserve no slack on this one!

Re: Just remember...
Only problem is the hour-by-hour showed temps in the 60s for nearly the entire afternoon.
The promise of 70s all week next week also appears to be falling by the wayside. Sunday features another warm front or stationary front close to the state line. Monday looks to be gloomy and 60-ish. Tuesday will probably be 65-ish (not bad, but not low or mid 70s like the dummies were forecasting last night).

Up to 58 at Metro. I can see it getting to almost 69 by the end of the night before falling back especially with a decent dry slot.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 4:43 pmOnly problem is the hour-by-hour showed temps in the 60s for nearly the entire afternoon.

How can you attack anybody for a forecast for next week? They are all adjusting down... NWS has for 2 days now... you can’t possibly think that’s really a fair thing to do...
Re: Just remember...
Now 59 and forecasting 66. Flood watch tonight with an additional 1-2 inches possible, no severe weather and all mainly after midnight.

Re: Just remember...
I think the NWS, Accuweather and TWC have done a better job of adjusting the extended downward than the dummies on local TV.
I think days in the 60s will outnumber days in the 70s over the next week.

Lyin' Ben and Firecracker Dave know their extended forecasts from yesterday were garbage. Instead of applying a major adjustment to next week all at once, they'll phase in the temperature adjustments over the next couple days, hoping viewers forget how bad their original predictions were!

Re: Just remember...
61 as of 7pm... I don’t much pay attention to the forecast till about 3 days out... Jerry Hodak kept the 5 day for a long time for this reason I’ve heard. He mightily resisted 7 doing a 7 day forecast for a while.
Re: Just remember...
60s? More like 50s Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with Monday maybe struggling to even get out of the 40s. That is, if you believe the GFS temperature forecasts. Every update they keep getting colder and colder and colder.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 5:58 pmI think days in the 60s will outnumber days in the 70s over the next week.

Re: Just remember...
For the heart of Metro Detroit, I think 50s on Monday are very possible. I think Sunday will be near 60 (milder toward the state line) and Tuesday will be 60 to low 60's (milder than that toward Lansing).
Look at this moronic forecast from WXYZ.com; it's a complete joke!
https://www.wxyz.com/weather
74 today? Unlikely with several hours of clouds and intermittent rain into early afternoon. If we get enough dry hours, could happen. 70 seems like a safer bet.
Then for Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday - those idiots are predicting 70, 70. 72 and 76!
Good luck with 70+ this weekend with resident cool air mass in place and east/northeast flow off the water!!! Fucking idiots!

For today Metro is sitting at 65 as of 9am... calling for 72 for a high.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2020 6:46 amFor the heart of Metro Detroit, I think 50s on Monday are very possible. Tuesday 64
NWS Make you feel any better?
Ben Bailey promised near 80 by next weekend after promising 80 twice this week...
Re: Just remember...
GFS apparently is in bad need of upgrades and investments, the European model is more reliable so I’ve read. This article about efforts to improve it is worth a read:bmw wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2020 12:17 am60s? More like 50s Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with Monday maybe struggling to even get out of the 40s. Re: Just remember...
I did a pretty good job for today.
Lyin' Ben says 69 for Sunday and 66 for Monday. He's out of his mind.
Didn't catch Firecracker Dave's forecast yet.
