I listened a bit today at the start. It’s very sad to hear. I’m sure he is trying and has great pride in what he is doing, but he simply needs to retire.

Bo fired Ernie .... why can't Chris Illitch do the kind thing and ask Jim politely to step aside. I'm afraid of Jim pulling and Sonny Weaver Sr. And dropping dead on the radio.

I was watching the YouTube highlights for yesterday's Tigers game and got a demonstration of the difference between the Tigers radio team and broadcasters for other teams.

At the 31 second mark, the Colorado Rockies broadcasters react to a good defensive play by a Rockies infielder with a smooth, well-modulated reaction that's in sync with the rhythm of baseball.

At the 4:18 mark, Dan Dickerson reacts to a good play by Javier Baez with a lot of over-the-top yelling, followed by more chatterbox talk by Bobby Scales.

Dickerson stinks too. How many times did he mention altitude this weekend.........it's Denver.

Dickerson screams a bit too much for me. Bobby Scales was talking about the altitude a lot too, and how he played in Colorado Springs at one point (which is about 1000 feet higher).

I miss Ernie.
