After listening to this weeks podcast, Ron did get stiffed by Denny. He strangely gave up very quick, little badmouthing of Denny.
But just when you thought he had resigned himself to being (yet again) stiffed, Ron would badger his beleaguered, newly-arrived guest producer about making contact with Denny.

I also appreciated how, in the midst of Ron’s (as-always) “very interesting” interview with Jake Wood, another of his guests on rotation from the very distant past (see also Ray Scott), we experienced an extended period of dead air as Ron ignored both Wood & his audience to just watch the goings-on between the Cubs & the White Sox on ESPN.

So much dead air this past Sunday. I believe Ron has taken his listeners for granted thinking they will follow him to his latest station and timeslot. That was a painful listen. Also, I believe that Ron makes very "loose" confirmations with Denny and many of his guests that he supposedly lines up. I think in his head it's a wish list to that he announces but has not even discussed with his guests. Then he hopes everyone has forgot about it or does not bring it up during the next show. I notice Mr. P has been absent the last couple weeks since Ron prematurely gave him the quick hook the last time he called. It's time for an in studio fight/argument at this point. When you have next weeks guest calling in to help bail you out because you keep announcing the phone number and scores to kill time, its time to do things differently which will never happen with hard headed Ron.

It is funny to hear Ron yelling at the producer “Did you text him??? TEXT HIM!!!” and “DID YOU LEAVE HIM A MESSAGE???!!!” in regards to Denny. We all know Ron’s rudimentary tech skills and his reliance on his flip phone are a bit out-of-date, but his ability to badger and demean those helping him on-air is always up-to-date!!!

Denny seems to leach onto Ron when he needs him. It’s too bad he stiffed Ron.

Can you imagine "needing" Ron Cameron??!!??!?!?!??! :rollin :rollin :rollin

To the music of Car 54, Where Are You?:

There's a slowdown in the calls,
And no emails in the queue.
There's a cub producer to berate
Even if he's just passing through.
There's all the dead air filled with talk of Lidle,
And his days as Detroit's idol.
Denny McLain, Where Are You?

As I watch this video, I imagine Fred Gwynne as Ron and the other guy as the producer. Most of the time, they casually go on their way, paying half attention to their primary job. When there's an emergency, Ron flares up with anxiety and takes it out on the producer.

Alex, Matt, Martin, and Luke

A somber and wistful parody of "Abraham, Martin, and John"

Anybody here seen my old friend Alex?
He produced a lot of programs,
But he knew when to move on,
I just looked around, and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend Matt?
He tried to show some backbone,
Which really ticked off Ron,
I just looked around, and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
He called Ron a "crazy man,"
Which probably doomed his fate,
I just looked around, and he's gone.

Didn't you love the callers they let through?
Didn't they try to find some scores for you and me?
And they'll be free
Some day soon, with Ron a bad memory.

Anybody here seen my old friend Luke?
He's currently on the hot seat,
And we wish him best of luck,
But like the others, he'll be gone.

Always raising the bar, Bobbert! That has to be in the soundcast of the CinemaScope film starring William Bendix as the Scoop.

It’s Sunday, beautiful day today, looking forward to hearing some R-Sizzle wrap up the weekend :) Hopefully he has topics lined up for three hours of radio

On a somewhat unrelated note-Heard Mr Positive call in on 97.1 during karsh and Anderson’s earlier this week. Great conversation between him and Doug Karsh on Miggys quest for 500. Was some great sports chat!

Thanks. I've always thought of Fred Flintstone or Ralph Kramden as Ron's "brother from another mother," but William Bendix is perfect.

Ron has no patience for Cowboy. I guess Cowboy's absence didn't make Ron's heart grow fonder.

Welcome back, Mr. Positive.

Ron notes that Garza is too slow & doesn't play defense, but he's high on him!
