If Ron's on the verge of losing his press pass for the Wings, I sure hope he hasn't lost Paul Woods's number. So much for his explanation for losing his press privileges - 'they don't like me in this city, because I'm the only one who tells it like it is' - when it comes to the Wings. Over the years, Ron has been quite the toady for the team, going so far as once saying that "Ken Holland can do no wrong."

Ron's likely reaction? "I don't know him. Never met him."

That MBA will probably be a big turnoff to Ron, who likes to brag about never graduating from high school.

It's true that, like Mike Ilitch, as he reminds us, Ron didn't graduate from high school. But Ron never even got so far as the 9th grade, having dropped out in/after the 8th grade.

Still waiting on the podcasts from this weekend (last week was never posted), I guess the podcasts are limping outta the gate in this new time slot too.

It might be time for Ron to pull some strings with his ol' buddy Gabe Kapler and get the inside track on an exclusive interview with new Tigers GM Scott Harris.

Yes, it's just ESPN, but not everyone agrees with Ron that Tyrese Haliburton (ranked 59th) would be the best player on the Pistons, better than even Cade Cunningham (ranked 35th).

On a semi-related note, Ron's future second-guessing will probably shift away from Haliburton to the new Tiger President of Baseball Operations, Scott Harris. Every inch of progress from now on will be credited by Ron to Al Avila.

We need to continue the trend of "Did you ever interview so-and-so?" e-mails and calls. I just sent an e-mail about Maury Wills.

Ron may not have any contact with Maury Wills, but doesn’t he have some story that tangentially involves Doris Day? And if he does, & also knows about the Wills-Day romantic connection, Ron will immediately use the Wills question to piggyback on to his Day story.
