The June 26, 1986 issue of the Grosse Pointe News reports Jimmy Carson's parents are Maria and Charles "Chuck" Carson. The senior Mr. Carson's line of work is not mentioned.
Maybe Ron the media titan - last week he said he RAN WXYZ - retained a stable of attorneys.
Yeah, he must of had them working in shifts

Post thanksgiving edition of sports talk show pre notes:

Will Ron talk about Thanksgiving with the illitches

Will Ron expand on why Jimmy Carson will not be on his show

Will there be a review with Ray Scott on how he gave Ron a place to stay

All these questions (doubt it) and more tonight on sportstalk :)

As Ron directed, I’m getting my questions ready for Ray Scott.

Did you know that Ray was one of only two Pistons coaches to win coach of the year honors? And no, the other one wasn’t Chuck Daly or, puhleeze, Larry Brown. It was Rick Carlisle. Since press row Ron somehow never managed to meet Flip Saunders, who only coached the team for three seasons, I wonder if he ever got to meet Carlisle.

I want Ron to settle once & for all who is attorney was back in the glory days.

An attorney was mentioned in this 9/18/81 article from the Detroit Free Press, right after Cameron was fired by WXYZ.
Consider Ron Cameron, "superfan" and guru of WXYZ radio's "Sportstalk" show. He's still willing to talk about sports any time, any place, with anybody. It's just that he isn't going to be paid for it anymore; WXYZ has canceled his show.

"Hey, nobody has it made in this business," said Cameron, 36, whose three-year-old program was abruptly scrapped late last week. "I'm still not bitter. I've come up the hard way. I'm a self-made person. I want to stay in the business."

So now he is scrambling. His friend, attorney Brian Smith, is contacting radio and television stations, trying to sell a daily or weekly Cameron program. It won't be easy. Cameron is a blustery, unorthodox sportscaster with many rough edges and an up-from-the-bleachers approach that sometimes rubs people the wrong way. "I know I turned off a lot of people by telling it like it is," he said.

And what will Mr. Positive say about the behavior of his hero LeBron James against the Pistons a week ago?

Yeah, the late Brian Smith was always the one he referenced as his attorney, including earlier this year, when Ron mentioned him in the present sense. That’s why I was surprised when Ron said that another one of the reasons he was so close to Jimmy Carson was that his father was his attorney. Maybe emailer Dan can get to the bottom of this.
