I wonder if Martin has any insight on why Ron was in the hospital when missed his birthday show. That might explain what led to his death one month later.
I can’t think of it now, but was there an additional health issue when he had his knee surgery?

Martin posted that Ron also had a brain aneurysm. On his return, though, Ron immediately pushed back against that when it was raised by Martin.

is Cowboy dead too? that'd be the only way this could be even better
Nope. He keeps registering new accounts trying to rejoin the Buzzboard.
Jesus lol

I guess at least he hasn't edited Ron's Wikipedia entry to make it mostly about himself, like he once did with Ben Maller of Fox Sports Radio's entry.

I wonder and hope-some of Ron’s past guests and people he knows call in. Would be interesting to hear there stories. I am sure the best of clips will bring back some fun memories. I wonder if the show on Friday could have some bonus time into the AA show

Anyone speak to Mr Positive? Hope he is ok, it appeared that him and Ron would talk after shows at times?
I got the feeling that Mr. P was trying to help Ron look for potential advertisers.

Greg from Warren was also a wingman. Although what happened to the Yellow Pages Greg personally dropped off at the station is a mystery.

Another flashback memory of Ron Cameron: When I was working in a drugstore in Grosse Pointe Farms in the late 1970's/early 80's, Ron came in a few times. After the Detroit Free Press Marathon in (I believe) 1979 he told us that he had run in the race, but did not finish. He spoke of wanting to finish in the next year's event. Bobbert, with your ability to look up past issues of the Free Press, can you see if the newspaper listed Mr. Cameron as a participant?

I used to be a pretty big Rome fan and hung out in that forum sometimes so I remember that. Very, VERY strange of him to post there considering he's always claimed to not like Rome or his show.

That place was/is pretty vicious, it did NOT go well for him there when somebody found the CBC Windsor story about him and showing pictures of his apartment lol

Alas, the Free Press listings only list people who finished the race.

In my "archives" is the June 19, 2022 show with Jim Kaat as a guest in the second hour.

I just now heard of Mr. Cameron's passing. Prayers to his family and friends.
I quit opening this thread when one of you started waiting for him in a library parking lot every weekend.
I'm actually old enough to remember Page and Cameron on their show,
The gentleman was a fountain of sports knowledge for sure. Rest in Peace.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. There's no going back, and we can only go forward before we run out of runway.

Great! In the aftermath of the Kaat interview, I remember the many members of listening audience stopping Ron in the street to commend him on the show. :blink

Mention of the word "archives" reminds me of the story told by a friend who once attended a funeral in Detroit. According to the story, a couple of female church leaders, each adorned in old school nurse garb, stood in front of the mourners to read a proclamation in honor of the deceased. When the reading was concluded, one of the church leaders announced that the original proclamation would be presented to the family, while a copy would be maintained in the church “arch-eev-us.”

I wonder if either of the Warren Boyz has tried to help out with finding Ron a final resting place. Both Mark and Greg acted like they were friends of Ron.
