Regarding the Detroit Tribune: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Tribune
Yeah, the rest of that issue was focused on black issues, which made that wide-ranging monologue even more surprising.

This may have been who bought the no-longer-extant WFVR in Florida (apparently Ron is not the only Cameron involved in broadcasting): https://cameronbroadcasting.com
Thanks. That dovetails with the links that I found. The purchase was for $350,000, which sounded way out of our Ron Cameron's league.

One of the bummers of Ron not having a second show on the weekend is the lack of play by play he provides during games

NBA all star game play by play would have been one to listen to. Who can forget his superbowl shows from years past
I remember one Sunday night he got so caught up in the way Jeff McNeil of the New York Mets held his bat that I think he completely forgot he was on the air.

In what way would you surmise that Ron Cameron "holds his bat"?

That is, if he can find it....

One of my favorites was narrating a Tiger rain delay.

I just saw a post on twitter that Ron has passed. I feel awful. I haven't listened in years, but just from this board, it still feels like a gut punch.

Wow, the end of an era. As critical as we all could be of Ron, (for good reasons), there was something comforting and reassuring of him being on the radio forever. I personally thought he sounded a little more energized and “with-it” these last few shows. I guess ya never know.

He passed on Tuesday of this week.

Sad news indeed. |I I'd sometimes call into his show on the old WMZK ("In the middle of your dial at 98") and would always tune in. The passing of a legend.

RIP

I feel we’ve all had losses these last few years that seemed to come outta nowhere. I mean, less than a week ago, I thought Ron sounded better than he had in a long time.

He was hobbled post-surgery when I saw him in December but otherwise I thought he looked surprisingly good.

Does anyone need a Yellow Pages from last June? Too soon?

I knew this day was coming, just didn’t think it would be this soon. As much as we ripped on him and the show, we always tuned in weekly or as often as we could. I actually agreed with some of his takes.

I am curious how the media will report this, including the other sports personalities.

I think a trip to Ram’s Horn in Southfield or the Fenton Hotel would be a way to remember the life of Ronald Cameron.

George Eichorn commented positively on the Twitter page, even after Ron’s bashing the past few shows. That’s nice to see.
