Ron Cameron
Re: Ron Cameron
Momo I am 67 yrs old..Ron is the only sports talk show that talks about sports when i was a kid.I listen to his show for the nostalgia.
Re: Ron Cameron
Ok, thanks. So you listen for the guests & Ron's stories of yesteryear. And not so much for his take on the current sports scene.
Re: Ron Cameron
Momo That is correct.I also listen for his blow ups and find his misinformation on current sports entertaining.

Re: Ron Cameron
I don't know what he does, only that it varies by the length of ad. I do know that he does some trade for food, gas, etc. but not all trade. Also, he'll use the interview in studio as a free throw in for the big spenders.Gertner wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 12:43 amAny idea on how much Ron chargesuncleb67 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 4:07 pmAlex probably has a better insider take than I on a situation like this, though several years ago, Ron somehow found himself in and around the community where I live and work. He basically came out of nowhere and started badgering the owners of the business I worked for (who had NO IDEA who this Ron Cameron was/is, though I did!), looking to get them buy an ad on his show (not sure which station he was on at the time, though it was definitely low-watt). When they rebuffed him, he turned ugly, nasty, and even more boorish than what we all hear on the radio. Not the moves of a real “closer”!wtfdetroit wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 4:40 pmAlex,
Does Ron just drive around everyday stopping at random business' looking for sponsors? I can't imagine people reaching out to him.

Re: Ron Cameron
As a younger guy, I always found Ron's older callers and stories entertaining until I heard them each 20 times. Now I can recite the story when he mentions the subject. I always have felt it was my job to fill in the gaps of analysis with the current sports scene, especially in areas Ron is not well versed in (college).

Alex, I don't know if you listened on Saturday but he had no clue who Anthony Lynn is. I think his current day NFL knowledge isn't the best either.

I did in bits and pieces, but missed that part. I will say giving NFL predictions a few weeks ago it seemed like I had to breakdown teams more than expected.wtfdetroit wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 12:26 pmAlex, I don't know if you listened on Saturday but he had no clue who Anthony Lynn is. Just so the board knows, I will try to steer Ron away from his typical grievances on the show such as Blake Griffin. That's the hardest part!

Looking forward to it, Alex!1alexalway wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:46 amJust so the board knows, I will try to steer Ron away from his typical grievances on the show such as Blake Griffin. That's the hardest part!
Re: Ron Cameron
Alex, if you're talking about the Series, I once again request that you please correct Ron's incorrect correction (of Kurt) that the Rays' Willy Adames was not originally a member of the Tigers' organization. Still scratching my head that he would not know that Adames was a key part of the David Price trade.
Re: Ron Cameron
We haven’t heard Ron rail against Bill Keenist in some time. That used to be a regular part of Ron’s arsenal.
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron’s again promising Mark Wilson, who’s “frustrated by this virus.” In the next 2-3 weeks.
