Ron will always be Ron, but I think this new Martin guy really does try and help Ron with his audience. I've been listening since WDFN. Who's Ron's best sidekick been over the years?

For the sports purposes of the show, Alex, of course. But for the real reason many of us listen, the trainwreck aspect, it has to be Matt. Their interactions were so entertaining.

Ron's had alot of different sidekicks over the years, and as far as unofficial co-hosts go, Alex was one of the longest tenured and most informative. Matt naturally created pure entertainment and chaos which made for that train wreck show we listen to for comic relief.

Agreed with Matt. I don't know why Ron had it in for Matt so much, constantly berating him, and being mean but with Matt it was the most entertaining show ever.

No way?!? Bob had always said that Eli did not want Ron on the show because he's a blowhard. Eli must have had a change of heart? Bob seemed indifferent about having Ron on although in a way enjoying the thought of it. If that is the case, Ron MUST have Bob on as a guest and I must be a participant in that show.

Ron did mention that he wouldn't have Denny back on unless he gets invited to his show. Maybe the threat worked.

Listening to this right now...Ron sounds like a different person, must be that flip-phone/Campbell’s soup can connection! He actually sounds relaxed and free-wheeling.

Interview was just alright, Ron did sound different. It was nice to hear Ron get some airtime, he definitely has hustled all his life. His era has come and gone and I remember him at his best during the 1980's. Bob and Denny probably could have spent hours just telling stories. So the question is when will Bob and Denny reciprocate and come onto Ron's show as a guest?? I'm sure he'll get Denny, so it sounded as if the hatchet has finally been buried with Bob.

I just listened to the interview and it was probably Ron's phone. He repeated most of the stories he's said on his radio show countless times and his latest plan is to buy a deli in Canton in the next few weeks (I'm sure we've heard this before for a couple years). The problem is they would ask him a question, and he would ramble off a story from the old days and not answer the original question. It's like his brain is programmed to name drop no matter what you ask him. I think Denny likes him but Bob not so much.

Yes, more of the same recycled stories. Eli wisely decided not to be a part of having Ron on the podcast. Ron started off the interview with a lie about why he left The Patriot, casting it as some principled decision over his distaste for Trump. He never mentioned how much he said he liked the station while he was there, (wrongly) crediting it (over WPON) for having email capabilities, and reveling in the podcast of his shows, which made it possible to listen to him "24/7." His attempt to rewrite history also ignores the fact that his exit from The Patriot was not his choice, but due to the station banning him from the studio due to his gastrointestinal issues.

Although he's talked about never knowing his father, I never knew that his mother kicked him out of the house at 15, telling Ron, per Bob Page, that she just didn't want him anymore. This explains why, according to Page again, Dick Vitale said that by right Ron should be in the gutter somewhere in Detroit with a needle in his arm.

Can't wait for Ron to rip into Price and Dickerson. With no crowd noise, they will be particularly annoying.

And Martin, your cynicism about polls, at least in respect to 2016, is not well-placed. The final average of polls then gave Hillary a 3.3% lead. She ended up “winning” by 2.2%. If Biden’s current H*** lead is similarly diminished by 1.1%, he’ll still win bigly.

Ron again references Hillary losing the “electrical” vote!
