Did not know that "Contact" sampled this song, thanks for that bit of trivia!

You're welcome. Music discovery is fun for me, so I'm glad to share.

Mike, the Spotify Playlist is looking good. My liked songs playlist on there has over 3,600 songs, so It's well-stocked. I could do a thread on pop songs as well, as there are many 60's and 70's ones that got left behind. Oldies 1480 in GR is great for playing those.

The Terry Knight song was good, too - hadn't enjoyed that before.

"The Way You Broke My Heart" - Point Blank...I recall this one being played a little as well as "Nicole".

Went back and listened to "We Ride Tonight" and "No Turning Back" again...as great as ever.

"Looking Out For #1", "Blue Collar", and "Gimme Your Money Please", all by B.T.O.
"When The Daylight Comes" - Ian Hunter (how is this not a classic we hear regularly?)
"Living On The Edge" - Jim Capaldi
"Muscle Of Love" - Alice Cooper (just gave this whole album a relisten, and it's better than I remembered)
"Had Enough" - The Who
"You Should Be High Love" - Billy Squier

That one fights with "Love it to Death" as my favorite ACG album (From the Inside takes the #1 spot overall). Big Apple Dreamin', Never Been Sold Before, the title cut, Working Up a Sweat...great, great forgotten album.

In my opinion Alice was great up until The 80’s, His early stuff is untouchable, But I’m more in tune to 60’s and 70’s music because that’s my young and party years, I’m not saying 80’s and 90’s were bad because I love music from all years but in all honesty the 70’s was happening for me.

“Highway Star” by Deep Purple 1972
“Bad Motor Scooter” by Montrose 1973
The Original “Smokin’ In The Boy’s Room” by Brownsville Station 1973
“Rock Candy” by Montrose 1973
“Hold Your Head Up” by Argent 1972
“Godzilla” by Blue Oyster Cult 1977
“Golden Country” by REO Speedwagon 1972
“Raise A Little Hell” by Trooper 1978
“Mississippi Queen” by Mountain 1970
“Jailbreak” by Thin Lizzy 1976
That's a great list for someone like me, who's never listened to much Def Leppard, Guns'n'Roses, etc., except over the loud speakers of "gentlemen's clubs" in the 1980s and early 1990s.

I remember these songs getting a lot of FM rock airplay around 1971, 1972, 1973:

Why Dontcha by West, Bruce, and Laing
Lazy by Deep Purple
Small Beginnings by Flash

Also a couple of interesting covers:

Gimme Shelter by Grand Funk Railroad
I'm a Man by Chicago

"The Man With The Golden Gun" beats the official Lulu song by a mile. Bond wasn't ready for the Coop, obviously.

"From The Inside" is a great album - I've always enjoyed it. I'd have to call "Lace And Whiskey" a sentimental favorite, along with "Flush The Fashion". Even "Da Da" is
one that runs through my head now and again.

When I met Alice years ago, I could've discussed his music fluently with him, but there wasn't time and I'm sure he doesn't have a lot of great memories of his off-stage life in those years. I also met Dick Wagner a different time, but didn't take advantage of the chance to converse about the music.

"Megaforce" - yeah, I remember it coming out and not getting enough notice.

"Autobahn" - way ahead of its' time, and it's amazing that it was a hit single in edited form. There's a couple week period around '74 or '75 when the Billboard Top 40 featured such a variety that I was blown away by the real diversity in the music. I think "Autobahn" was one of the songs in there.

(As an aside, why isn't Kraftwerk in the Rock Hall? Their level of influence is much higher than a lot of inductees, even if they seemed strange to a lot of music fans.)

"Guns. Guns, Guns" is one of a number of great Guess Who songs. I was having trouble narrowing it down to one pick, so your selection represents some of the lesser-heard songs of theirs.
