Channel 7 is the only station of the big four to actually have an on screen icon for the severe thunderstorm warning in Livingston County.

Edit - Loco 4 finally got off its ass and put up the warning graphic.

That is a nasty storm in SW Livingston. Starting to show some substantial rotation. Storms also intensifying quickly across central Washtenaw County. Basically on top of Ann Arbor.

Wouldn't surprise me if a tornado warning comes of this.

Incorrect. CW has had a ticker and bug running every 5 minutes since the first warning. The ticker isn't on CBS I believe because they are currently in newscast.

I just now got the alert on my phone 🙄

I get ONE day off work early, come home to lay down, and....

I mentioned the "big four" stations in my OP. That would exclude CW 50. It's good that they disseminated the warning info, though. It's stupid for 62 not to have that same info on screen.

Pretty good rotation near Ford Lake right now.

Hey WDIV, it's annoying AF that the storm warning ticker is accompanied by a trio of loud warning "bongs" that mute the on-camera talent's program audio, which seems might just be relevant to the immediate conditions.

[EDIT] Well, I thought they may have figured this out. But, no.

Looking at radar animation, there was also decent rotation between Milan and Carleton a little while ago. These are pretty well organized storms.

MW - do you follow Paul Gross on Twitter? My mom does and said he hinted there was some rotation around Dexter and there might even have been a very brief tornado spinup there (he saw what looked like a tiny debris signature). He's more trustworthy and more on the ball than any TV meteorologist currently on the air.
Probably the worst hail I've seen in a long time. My deck in Whitmore Lake was covered with it. It reached golf ball/egg size around PInckney. Thank God the storm waited until after I had gotten home to unleash the worst of its fury.

I agree with Paul's remarks regarding possibility of a brief tornado occurring in that neck of the woods. I saw a similar signature between Pinckney and Dexter.

The storm I mentioned earlier near Carleton is now near Stony Point and has a tornado warning on it.

There is a nasty cell over Van Buren Twp that could be producing golf ball sized hail right now. SW tip of that cell, SSE of Ypsi, might spawn a funnel. Augusta Twp and Sumpter Twp should be on the lookout.

New tornado warning just issued due east of Toledo. Very strong signature right by or just east of where the WTVG and WTOL towers are located.

These storms really wreaked havoc in NW Ohio. Significant damage in the Point Place area of Toledo, though no official confirmation of a tornado as I type this (but there obviously was one, caught on video plain as day). As of this moment the only confirmed touchdown is in Ottawa County near Port Clinton (likely the one MW mentioned in this thread). Some damage in Sandusky too (likely from that same storm).

The networks have a responsibility to inform viewers of impending weather conditions. Those that didn't should start getting fined. Just because a few bozos complain about their favorite show or sports team being interrupted doesn't mean the stations to cave into them.

Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

If the EAS was triggered and aired then the obligation you talk about was covered. W hie I agree they should be doing lots more, that is legally all they have to do so no fines.

Looks like there might have been a tornado in Monroe County too
