NewsNet on WHNE 14.9

Post by videocollectore » Sun Jan 06, 2019 2:44 pm

Has anyone checked out the new news channel NewsNet on WHNE 14.9? If so, what do you think? Right now I think their format is very basic as they are still a fledgling network and are still working out the kinks.

I could be wrong but he may be the prime anchor for the network.

OMG 😯 Maybe his hairpiece will fall off one day when he’s reading a news story, That would be great TV. In all honesty I think the kids in my Local High School could do a better job than this NewNet, just my opinion.

Remington Hernandez has to be the best name for an anchor since Stone Philips

This topic is very appropriate for this forum, as NewsNet is based out of Cadillac's "MI News 26".

I'll give them time to polish their act since they are fresh out of the gate.

They must have run into the gate while it was still closed, the sports dude not so great, I can hardly understand the dude, the weather dude well my 12 year old grandson could do a better job reading the weather, the chic well the only thing she’s got going is that she’s kind of hot but not smoking hot, I’ll pass on that NewsNet thing. And that Remington dude, well let’s see bad hairpiece and the name Remington Really dude, I mean REALLY, Remington 😆 😆 😂 😝

When I tuned in on Saturday, the picture quality of 14.9 was terrible. Looked like a low bitrate .mp4 video. There was also an annoying buzz in the audio chain at times.

It would behoove WHNE to reduce the number of simultaneous streams. The picture on Get TV also looks grainy, which is unfortunate, because that far & away is the best programming WHNE carries. (Light TV and SBN are the only two subchannels with good picture quality. The Detroit Streaming TV channel appears to have great picture quality, but all I've ever seen on that channel is a stillframe picture.)

At least WHNE offers its viewers some worthy programming. Cannot say the same of WUDL (PSIP channel 19).

I listened tonight and I didn't hear any buzz and picture looked better. Check it out again to see if you agree.

I watched this live on the pc first and thought this might be ok . Rescaned HDTV 5 days later and saw the same story about Thunderbird bowling lanes at first look. A channel like cnn headline news would be nice , but this is not it . Credit given for trying though .

I noticed that the reporters on NewsNet have been wearing the same clothes for days now, no wardrobe change whatsoever 😆 😝 😂 Maybe they didn’t receive their first paycheck yet.

Just went to their website and I see Vic McCarty interviewing a guy who wrote a book about Hobey Baker, a hockey star from a century ago on what is apparently called "Midday Edition."

Vic looks a bit more normal than he did as a redheaded sports reporter on Channel 7&4 about 20 years ago. If they make a go of it, being based in Cadillac, that'd be something.
