The Breeze will prove to be a loser with Adults 25 to 54.

105.1 had mediocre to terrible money demo ratings, which is why the station kept trying to reinvent itself.

There is a reason a true Soft AC hasn't been tried in Detroit since the early 90s - there is little pent up demand for the format.

A mostly urban leaning Soft AC would perform better. Going after the old V98.7 audience plus segments of listeners abandoned by 104.3 and 92.3 would be the way to go.

armchair pd,I'd say EVERYTHING (and more) I've typed here to your face, and to Robbie's face if I ever see him. (Highly unlikely in both your cases.)
As for having a pea brain, well,at least I'm not typing positively loony conspiracy theories about a country less than a ten-minute drive from my home.
I'd put you and Robbie in the Brady Breaker so tightly,it'd take an hour for you to escape it....IF I WANTED to release the hold. Oh,have a nice day, buddy boy !!!!

The Breeze is a good name for 98.7 MHz.

Why?

...Because the current format BLOWS!!!

They literally just tried the urban leaning format and the ratings proved that was a disaster.
That's why they are bringing back the old songs.

If they can learn how to program the station they might do well.

I am listening to The Breeze a lot less. Too many annoying snowflake tunes. That crap is readily available on WNIC, among others.

I think it's cute that someone who clearly doesn't even listen to the station has determined "it blows".
But before coming to that conclusion, decides they should go urban to do better. And you say that in a topic about them already going that direction and suffered poor ratings because of it

So you don't listen nor read the title of the theads you reply to...

Okay then. Lol

Same, BUT, since the Re-Addition of the songs they were playing 3 months ago, I find myself listening definitely more. But still not 24/7 like I was in Nov/Dec.

They still have a lot of bizarre R&B songs in that have never played on an AC Station nor even charted on the AC chart.
Example: "Never Too Much" by Luther Vandross.
That song only hit number 33 on the Hot 100. It did a bit better on the Hot R&B and Dance Charts. This is an upbeat R&B Dance Title. Not a "relaxing favorite"

Maybe Beasley should consider bringing the Magic brand back to 94.7 and kick “The Breeze” 98.7’s ass. Just a thought!

The station screwed up from day 1 though.

-Flipped in the middle of the holidays (then couldn't figure out why everyone was listening to WNIC and not them 🙄)
-No Air Talent for almost 2 months. (Then they finally hire non big names)
-Constant changing of playlists
-No Morning Show for almost 3 months
-No jingles for almost 3 months
-No promotion besides some billboards

I could go on, but I made my point

They would have to be completely mental to change formats on a station that has been in the top 3 for many many surveys.

Nash flipping would work though.

You &I could run 98.7 and get a Top 5 rated station in the first book.

Oh I'm well aware of that, lol. Trust me.
I would make this station number one.
I know the soft AC format like the back of my hand. I could program it in my sleep

But we are stuck with Ian Richards a's Music Director.
🙄
