WNIC slogan discrepancy / garbage imaging

Post by stopnswop2 » Sun May 26, 2019 5:03 am

They are calling themselves "The Best Variety of the 80s, 90s, and Today"... but are now adding in some 70s music and one ore two 60s tunes (I'm assuming to try and counter The Breeze).

It sounds so weird hearing that slogan right after Ben E. King or Elton John's "Your Song".

Also, the station sounds like complete garbage, but im sure I've mentioned that before.

Why does every other song have to be some current kiddie song?
The definition of variety does not mean: 80s song, current song, 80s, current, 80s, current, 70s, current.... etc etc.

These songs do not mix well.

And their announcer sounds so annoying. He makes my ears bleed.
Their jingles are irritating too.
And the immitation of the old fabulous sounding top of the hour jingles just sound HORRIBLE.
The bells before the sedated sounding kid are out of tune and sound creepy. Sound like they were programmed by Dracula.

I miss their JAM Jingles.
I still sing them. They were so catchy.
The station used to sound so professional and over-polished... and I loved it.
I constantly search for old jingles and airchecks.
I actually payed 25 dollars to buy a 2 hour long aircheck from 2006.

And don't get me started on that annoying orange logo.

I wish they would just change their name back to "Fresh 100", because they are making a mockery out of the WNIC brand and the station's legacy
