10,000 songs commercial free?!
Who pays for this? The lables?

I hate this. It takes away another advertising stream for local business.

Entercom are geniuses.
I've never seen this much excitement and enthusiasm on this forum over a new format !

I still cannot believe See-B.S. -- err, Entercom -- forced Amp Radio's staff to still do weekend remote broadcasts under the "Amp Radio" banner hours after the Top 40 format was killed and to "make believe" that nothing was amiss!

I'm guessing the air personalities were given very little info until the Monday the station became The Breeze.

I can confirm that most if not all staff at Amp Radio - including the PD - were completely in the dark regarding the move to Soft AC until Monday afternoon, the day of the flip.

The whole thing was orchestrated at the corporate level.

The local staff truly believed the Christmas music was a programming gimmick that was going to segue into a CHR relaunch after Christmas.

I suspect advertising commitments for November 10 & 11 might be the reason things were handled in this manner.

That's the coldest move by a station since The Edge fired everybody on Easter Sunday to launch The Groove.
Love or hate AMP radio, that's no way to treat an air staff.

I can’t imagine being called into a meeting after being convinced of a plan and then being told “pack up your stuff... find a new job”... yeesh...

Corporate radio you gatta love it ,What’s real sad those people can’t find work now because there’s only 2 or 3 companies in Detroit to work for all thanks to the deregulation in ‘96 thanks FCC.

Why are they playing Shape Of You by Ed Sheeran twice a day now?
Why are they even playing it at all?
It doesn't fit in with the playlist.

I don't hate the song, I just don't think it fits with the vibe they have at all.

What we hear now may not be same after the 10K songs ,a little tweak here and another tweak there ,first thing you know The Breeze could sound different in about 3 or so months.Just saying!

3 months came fast lol.

As of midnight, the playlist is different now.
I'm kinda bummed as I finally got used to and memorized the playlist and looked forward to each and every song

Let's see how The Breeze 2.0 goes now I guess...

I'm hearing a lot of the stuff I and others requested on the other thread, so I can't get that mad. It's not everyday that the listeners opinions are actually listened to. I applaud them for this.

I just wish stations would build on playlists though instead of replacing songs In order to keep a lame 200 song playlist.

I loved the old playlist and I think adding the new songs we requested to the mix would have worked instead of replacing the old ones but.. not much I can do but express my opinion on that

EDIT:
I've heard about 3 songs from the old playlist, so maybe, just maybe, they ARE adding and not replacing?
Only been an hour so we shall see.
