That's right. Mr. Personality was on very briefly.

Ron's ignorance of the world beyond sports never ceases to amaze me. He's never heard of Martin Scorcese?! He should at least be aware of the Scorcese-directed Raging Bull about Jake LaMotta. It came out in 1980, when Ron was King of Radio in Detroit.

Wow. Shea Paterson as an NFL QB. No way, thank you Alex for calling him out.

I wouldn't get one's hopes up for Ken Holland showing up next week. Per Ron, his excuse for not being on today's show was that he was attending Jimmy Rutherford's HOF induction tonight. The problem with that, though, is that the induction ceremony isn't until Monday evening!

Why does Ron have the need to turn so many questions into stories about the person he was asked about? Like Don Cherry last night. Stay on topic! Alex had to come back and remind him of the question. Nice to hear him back also.

Well not only does he know everyone but he's been to every single Detroit sporting event for the past 50 years. No matter what obscure game in the 70's, Ron claims he was there and has a story on it.

I mean that's great, but to ignore a question for that is pointless

I dont think he's alone in that. A lot of people are so indulged in sports that they know little about anything else. Or, rather, CARE about anything else.
To be honest, when I hear sports personalities reference something outside of sports, it surprises me a little. Sports is a topic where many fans just go all out into it with a one track mind. And thats the kind who would make a full-time career out of sports broadcasting.

Ron, though, is pretty well versed about Bea Arthur and RuPaul, so he’s not completely divorced from the world outside of sports.

Or Doris Day Carol Channing and whatever other 90+ year old actress Ron talks about and proclaims that they "have a little pop in their bat left"

In the interest of fairness (not that Ron has extended that quality to many), I just listened to the podcast from Sunday's show, and Ron didn't say that Ken Holland's excuse for not appearing was that he was attending (Monday's) HOF induction ceremony, but merely an HOF dinner. My bad. We'll have to wait and see if he's on this Sunday, as now scheduled.

I would be remiss (look it up) if I didn’t take this opportunity to describe Ron Cameron in one word: POONTANG!!!

In one word? Difficult

The main things to understand about Ron Cameron is that he was once an umpire and he doesn't want to be ordered around by anybody. That explains about 99 percent of his behavior.
