The current forecast from the Google weather app (sourced from The Weather Channel) for next week Wednesday through Friday seems way too good to be true.

76 Wednesday. 79 Thursday. 83 (!!!) Friday.

Some pretty significant flooding issues in West Michigan.

WOW. NWS has 66 Monday and 72 Tuesday with agreement on that 76 and that's as far as it goes.

I'm seeing 77 and 79 for the end of next week.

Pardon me while I go get my shorts and my smile.

I don't hear about a lot of things anymore. Especially when the major issue of the day is a fucking beer can.

Good… you’ll be in for a shock when it snows a foot at 80 then.

I was glad that it was a dud as I don't want to lose power those storms did wake me up at around 7AM Wed, as I can't get back to sleep when the storms roll through I'll take morning rain that keeps the airmass stable and keeps the storms from re-firing in the afternoon.

Major changes in weekend forecast in latest model runs. Some now show the warm air hanging around thru a good chunk of Sunday, at least in SE Michigan.

TWC and AccuWeather now forecast mid 70s on Sunday.

Severe Weather also cannot be ruled out Sunday afternoon, although I think the best chance for severe weather will be across SW Ontario.

Turns out the temp forecast issued on April 5 was too conservative. On that date, a high of 76 was being forecast for my area for yesterday. It actually reached 81. 😎

It is conceivable much of eastern Michigan will see 3 or 4 consecutive days of 80+ degree high temps this week. I believe Alpena reached 86 yesterday. Incredible stuff.

It has been above 85 daily since Tuesday in Traverse City. We have been consistently warmer than Detroit. Yet snow on Monday. This is what we are used to; our "spring tease".

This sucks because the long-range models suggest that most of the rest of the month of April is going to be below average. We might not see another week like we just had for at least another 6-8 weeks.

For all the “it’s gonna be above average!!!!” Talk… excepting these 4 days it’s been pretty unremarkable this year so far… just a bit wet which we need…

The trick is to make use of the opportunity. This was likely a very unproductive week in T. C. I got burned a bit, but man am I ready for the summer...

Good beach weather indeed. :8)

Long range temp models haven't been terribly reliable lately. The heat of this past week wasn't predicted until maybe 8 or 9 days ahead of time; the AccuWeather forecast near April 1 was predicting highs mostly in the 50s from April 10 to 15.
