Considered going to the game today (to actually watch it not count the attendance) however wife and I decided to have a few people over for a BBQ. I'm going to be a masochist and have R Sizzle on in the background. At least it exposes him to a few new listeners.

The ads got to be drying up. But let's blame it on the one man operation and not the fact that you're a blowhard, come in bitching all the time, no show prep, belching, yawning, eating on air, using n word on air, calling your fellow media members dick head on air. Yeah not Ron's fault

This really is the current state of SportsTalk. The whole “Scoop Vs. Everybody” schtick holds NO WATER. If any of these advertisers, especially ones that are working hard to build their often-fledgling small businesses, find time and/or the ability (low-watt, no-name stations can be hard to find!) to listen to this SportsTalk train wreck (especially in its current ramshackle state), they do find their time and dollars can be spent much better elsewhere. Hence, so many advertisers that are (a month or so of reads) one-and-done.

I do wonder if these business try to listen to see if there ads get read and what kind of show it is

I do feel IF they are able to listen, they probably have a “WTF!?” Moment and get back to trying to make their business successful, instead of bitching about being a “one-man operation” and complaining how “no one wants to work”.

I've got a feeling most of Ron's ad sales are made after he has lowered the price to survival level, and the sponsor just wants to get rid of him.

I am sure this is the case. Trust me, as I’ve said here before, I’ve seen Ron “The Closer” Cameron chasing those ad dollars/free dinners. He gets ugly when he is rebuffed, so the prospective advertiser is left with options such as “alright, I’ll agree to an ad on your world-famous sports talk program just to get rid of you” or “Go F@ck yourself!” or some combination of both those options.
