Maybe 1440 WMKM could be a fallback? :8)

Speaking of Ron's Twitter feed, here's a clever little exchange from May 3:

Poster: How many more stations can you work at before retirement?

Ron: Age is just a number, I love what I do for a living.
Ron is a man of the people, he won’t take away your caravans or out of town buses

WPON is $150 an hour. That would mean $600 per weekend. I believe Sima wants a month in advance, it would be prorated in this case.
WDTK is higher, not sure how much but I would guess $300-$400 per hour.
Wow interesting, makes me wonder more how he turns a profit for himself. I get he sells the ads, I guess AM radio with a handful of listeners has its perks!
I don't know that it's about turning a profit. Without a show, he can't promote restaurant sponsors & he needs those sponsors to, literally, fill his belly.

There's this famous quotation:

Ron has a slight variation: He leads a life of very loud desperation.

Imagine my excitement when I looked at my email this morning and the first email I see is from Ron Cameron. Be still my heart. Seems that whoever is running Ron's email has sent out a email blast to all of his past emailers thanking us for being loyal listeners and informing us that he has landed at WPON and will be on 3-5 starting next Saturday.

Give it time, Momo, you're probably in the queue right behind all of the insurance company emailers.

However aggressive the outreach, you just know that Ron will lash out at Martin when his "seven callers" aren't there initially.

I hope he doesn't but can you really blame him.Martin is totally incompetent. He does not belong anywhere near a radio, studio.

I must say, this weekend has been a bit out of sorts without the routine of listening to the Elvis of sports radio

On his last show, last week, Ron said that Jim Kaat would be on in "two weeks." So I'm looking forward to Ron launching his rebooted show next weekend with the pride of New Zealand. That'll get the people in the street talking (again).
