I must say that after 16 months, WWJ’s news operation has vastly improved. I’ve always liked the newscasts but must admit that there were little things that I found to be annoying. Mainly the small newsroom and the meteorologist walking from the anchor desk to the screen. In addition, Jeff Skversky annoyed me.
Anyhow, the usage of the CBS graphics are a lot better and the overall presentation is vastly improved from launch. Troy is a much better fit on the morning crew with Kris and Sandra, while Kylie works better in midday.
Terrence Friday is decent. Much than Jeff. Shaina and Ahmad are awesome. I actually like Meredith a lot better than Rachelle Graham. I think Lauren would work much better on weekends. Speaking of which, when will the weekend morning newscasts start? Where is Karen Carter??
Anyhow, I just think 62 needs to hire more people, especially a sports anchor. Not having one looks really, really bad. Anyhow, station has come a long way, but still has things to work on.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Re: CBS News Detroit
I actually saw - wait for it - a complete sportscast on tonight's 6PM newscast!
Long overdue. Not sure when they started doing a sports report; it's been at least a month since I last watched their 6PM newscast after 6:20 PM.
I have no idea who the sports anchor was as I missed the first half of her segment. She certainly put together a much better sports segment than that clown Ronnie Duncan ever did during his time there.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

Sports anchor: Rachel Hotmayer. 3...2...1...I'M DONE.
Re: CBS News Detroit
Rachel Hopmayer… she came from Spectrum One in Buffalo and was in Green Bay and at NBC Sports Washington before that.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 6:33 pmI actually saw - wait for it - a complete sportscast on tonight's 6PM newscast!

I always felt like I was watching Kenan Thompson on SNL.

Their newscasts haven't really drawn any interest from me. I know more about the staff from their prior stations.
