Earlier today, I encountered our hero, live in the wild, at the Bloomfield Hills Library. As I canvassed the library for missing newspapers, my search ended when I saw, at a computer, a headphones-donning man surrounded by a stack of newspapers. As I successfully sifted through the newspapers, I recognized the one & only Ron F. Cameron (who had a nearby walker)! I said, "I know you." Without missing a beat, Scoop said, "Most people do." I asked him how he was & he said he was "good."
I later had to be escorted out of the library by Bloomfield Hills Police for asking one too many patrons to pinch me.
It would be funny if you start to run cross him often now. He might think he has a stalker.

Re: Ron Cameron
Did you ask Ron "what are you doing here?" or shake his hand?

Was there either an airing of grievances or a feats of strength competition at the library?
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

We know Ron accesses the internet at libraries, but I sure didn't expect to see him at the Bloomfield Hills library. And as I tend to head out there on Saturdays, I may well be seeing him again, prompting him to sic his army of attorneys on me to get a PPO.
Re: Ron Cameron
Expecting to see Ron in the wild today was certainly not on my bingo card, so - in the unexpected presence of a star of his magnitude - I got tongue-tied. But I'll be better prepared the next time. Maybe we'll even hug & laugh.

How appropriate since there’s a Seinfeldian quality to this thread.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 4:21 pm

Re: Ron Cameron
Before Ron left, I saw him stop off at the circulation desk. He said something about his walker. Maybe he was threatening to use it to ward off autograph hounds.
Re: Ron Cameron
Oh please. With your adoration of Ron Cameron?
You'll be sitting in the parking lot all day every weekend from now on just in case he shows again.
I fully expect you now have the librarians on retainer. They will call you every time he steps foot in the building.
There is no doubt in my mind your vehicle has a "I Love Ron" sticker or license plate on it.
If the Bloomfield Police were actually called, it's because you asked for a lock of Ron's hair to put under your pillow.
You got a chubby when you seen him, didn't you? Be honest.

Re: Ron Cameron
Majik, those of us (& our families) fortunate enough to be enshrined - in the original class, no less - will remember that day as long as we have conscious thought. A truly magical day. Thanks again, Kidcat!Majik wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:28 pmWhat a day that was. Re: Ron Cameron
Ron was probably asking the librarian what their greatest thrill in library science was. Maybe he was trying to sell the library ads?? Maybe he was asking where the card file was. Or, maybe he was asking them why they didn't have the Dewey Decimal System.
