CW 38 WADL
Apologies if this is already posted on this group but it looks like 38 will become CW after reading this article.
"If the sale goes through, Detroit’s CW affiliation will almost certainly move from WKBD to WADL. Nexstar owns a majority stake in the CW Network, and operates nearly all of Mission Broadcasting’s local stations through shared services agreements. (A press release announcing Mission’s pending acquisition of WADL was republished by some Nexstar-owned broadcast stations.)"
It will be interesting to see what happens to WKBD during it's independence of any major network and how 38 will rebrand itself as CW.

Re: CW 38 WADL
If this sale goes through, where will MyNetworkTV programming go from here?
Re: CW 38 WADL
Probably to either 38.2 or 38.5 since they drop programming on both those channels in the last few months.

Or they could move MNTV programming to late nights after The CW finished for the evening -- all MNTV is these days is two hours of off-network reruns a night.
Re: CW 38 WADL
Doesn't this have a horrible signal in certain parts of Metro Detroit? I wonder if streaming services like Hulu and YouTube TV will add this channel now that there's more of a major network on it.

Re: CW 38 WADL
I live 2.5x as far from the WADL tower than the WKBD / WPXD tower and have an easier time receiving WADL than I do WPXD!
That said, given WADL's tower location near the Clinton Twp / St. Clair Shores border, over the air reception is certainly difficult near and west of 275 and probably darn near impossible near and west of US 23.
If the deal goes through, it will be interesting to see if Mission attempts to move the transmitter to one of the Royal Oak Twp or Southfield sites.

Hi, Mr. Adell wanted me to let you know that both the CW Network and My Network will air on the main channel 38.1 with the CW Network from 8PM to 10PM and My Network from 10PM to 12 midnight weekdays.

Last time I scanned, a big laughing face appeared when I tried to tune in 38.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 10:10 amI live 2.5x as far from the WADL tower than the WKBD / WPXD tower and have an easier time receiving WADL than I do WPXD!

To be honest, my best scans here are WLNS and WLAJ.

Re: CW 38 WADL
So its CW38 until 10pm then morphs into MY38 till midnight.
Nice of Mr Adell to be reading the buzzboard.....I give him alot of credit to be one of the first stations to embrace the sub channels and bring channels that had no home in Detroit at the time to WADL like Get tv and Grit.
F**K Trudeau and F**K CBC !!!!

Re: CW 38 WADL
Is WADL gonna be adding Rewind TV to a subchannel? Or perhaps get the Antenna TV affiliation back?

Re: CW 38 WADL
Yes, Mr. Adell said as soon as the Antenna TV contract with Ch. 20 is up they will add it back in. As far as 38.5 The Word Network goes it was removed because it’s already carried on all the cable providers in Detroit and it wasn’t part of the contract with Mission Broadcasting.

Re: CW 38 WADL
If you are using an outdoor antenna with UHF elements, it should be receivable. Field strength in your location should be on par with most of the other Detroit area stations. Unlike most Metro Detroit stations, which are located almost due south of you, WADL is located southeast of you. So, antenna aiming might be coming into play.Very horrible signal. This is impossible to get from Lapeer.
