Good beach weather indeed. :8)

Long range temp models haven't been terribly reliable lately. The heat of this past week wasn't predicted until maybe 8 or 9 days ahead of time; the AccuWeather forecast near April 1 was predicting highs mostly in the 50s from April 10 to 15.

Unfortunately they got it right this time. And there's no end in sight to this pattern - GFS models suggest we will remain significantly below normal for as far as the models go out (16 days).

Maybe this will be a cool summer… It fits the pattern of cold May’s we’ve had the last few years.

I agree that the first week of May will be unseasonably chilly. Monday through Wednesday of next week in particular look unpleasant.

By week two of May, temps should moderate but will still likely run 5 to 10 degrees below normal for multiple days. Highs should range from the upper 50s to mid 60s most days.

It's at this point in the season I wonder if I'm ever gonna wear shorts again. Fuck.

For the record I believe 65 is the average high for May 1st… everyday we go beyond that and don’t get there that goalpost slowly moves…

The second week of May is trending milder. Mid 60s to low 70s should be common. The 8 to 14 day temp outlook is predicting near average temps for Michigan.

This coming week still looks miserable from Sunday through Tuesday and on the cool side for the remainder where highs will mostly range from mid 50s to near 60.

Other than overcast to mostly cloudy skies, the daylight hours of today don't look bad. Highs in the low 60s.
