The "lot of help from CBS corporate" line is amusing. If the help were sufficient, the product would have been on the air in time for the fall 2022 prime time lineup debut.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

I dont know what you are all expecting. They are launching a streaming first newscast with a bunch of MMJ’s doing community based reports. CBS is investing in some staff and a set, but it aint gonna knock anyone’s socks off. This isn’t gonna be of the caliber of Local4. They aren’t doing the same thing as the legacy stations. They are probably waiting to finish sets etc.

I have it on good authority that it will be months until the launch, my hunch is not until after the New Year.

I'm inclined to agree with you, EditorCJ.
I could see perhaps an 11PM newscast launching very soon but I'm hard pressed to see much more than that in the near future.
Am I correct that the delay is due to difficulty in assembling a full staff?
It also would not surprise me if set construction is the cause of the delay; tradesmen and certain construction materials are in short supply in some instances.

Long way to go until the newsroom and set will be completed, don't know the reason for the delay but it is still very much a construction site.

Thanks for the info.
Lots of high tech stuff requiring microchips, which I'm sure doesn't help matters.
I wonder if all the folks they already hired are getting paid full salary.

Well, I guess I'm not sure what I should be expecting, but if it's not significantly better than the 10PM show that's been on CW50 for the last year then it's not going to be worth their investment at all.Newsman123 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 3:53 pmI dont know what you are all expecting. Local4 is not a very high bar to shoot for.

CBS Detroit/62 CBS should have hired Christy McDonald and instead they let her go to Local 4. That's a great hire for WDIV and a missed opportunity for CBS and their news team.

CBS Detroit is all hype, but no substance. Not worth waiting for!

Looks like Jeff Skversky is on board as a news anchor. He comes from WPVI in Philly.

An impressive hire, I must say. WPVI is a strong ABC O&O. Very interesting that two of the recruits have come from the Philadelphia market.

On their LinkedIn, it says later this fall. It also looks like their set is coming along nicely. This is all I’ll say.
